I have been home a week and one day now. The first week I felt a little rough around the edges but this week I seem to be making some progress. The pain is not quite as bad as before and I am able to skip doses of the pain killer which also allows me to take a short drive to break up the day. Yesterday, I drove to Decorah and mailed some letters and picked up a Mabe's Pizza and ate nearly half of it. But for those of you that know Mabe's Pizza - eating only half is showing huge restraint!
[Re-do. I have delted political garbage comment. After watching the debate I have decided all I will say is that McCain blinks ALOT. Like 3 times the number of times I blinked in one minute. Yes - I timed it. He is goofy, will suddenly smile strangely like his lithium drip just kicked in and then sticks his tongue out and ...IS blinky - is that body language talking or is it just dry eye syndrome?]
On a happier note - I mentioned awhile back we were redoing floors in our house. Mark got the floors done while I was gone - here is the living room before and after...Still have some decorating to do around it - but I am glad we took out the carpet:
After tearing up carpet. (Check out the lady on TV. What was that?)

Getting started nailing the new floor. (Check out all the "orbs" on this pic. Spiritual energy? Eh - I'm pretty sure it's saw dust in the air!)

The after. We went really dark because we have so much woodwork in the house that it was fun to try an different color away from the original. I should be able to pull it all together with a little decorating and rearranging. Need to find an area rug to put with the furniture. I like it.

Mark accented every doorway - neat!
That's all for now.

So glad you're home!! I'm going to come down to say farewell to my parents house the weekend of November 1. I'll try to stop out to see you and your fabulous floors. Mark is a gem.
Yes, John McCain's tongue goes in and out like a serpent. It is just plain odd.
