Happy 31-Dec-2008!!!

Since I don't have enough "material" today to create a post - I will steal the listy format to hang a few of today's thoughts out there. (I am painfully bored...)

1. We must call SuzieQ and see if she has fallen and can't get up. She has not posted anything on her blog since being annoyed by people annoyed by the bad weather. I fear one of them may have followed her home and shoved her in her trunk.

2. Dr. Phil. Today he is talking to adults who have amnesia with no recollection of their identity or their past. Did he really need to ask the question of Benjamin (after Ben confesses how tough it is to get a job without a SS#) "Why can't you get a social security number, Ben?" Um...he just told you - he doesn't know who he is. He knows his name is Ben. So, that might be ONE little stumbling block there, Phil. He can't even get a library card in the state he is in. Not knowing who you are is sort of a deal breaker. I could do that show with my eyes tied behind my back.

3. I have a about a 45-55 second walk down the driveway to my mailbox. I feel like I need to send a note to my neighbor and let him know why I am driving my vehicle to get the mail. Sheet of ICE, pal. I just had major surgery 2 months ago and if I fall it's curtains, Buddy! OR - I guess I could wait to see if he asks... ;) I wonder if he is even home...

4. It's New Years Eve. We have no real plans to speak of which is somewhat troubling. It wasn't troubling until I talked to a girlfriend on the phone and she told me about her plans. They are going to Priairie Du Chien to watch the Carp Drop at midnight. Huh. Apparently, somebody caught a monstrous carp in the fall - they got it all taxidermitized - with lipstick - and are going to drop it in the Mississippi at midnight - much like they lower the ball in Times Square. My only response to my friend was, "I hope AP doesn't get ahold of this..."

5. I am re-thinking the Carp Drop. I must broaden my horizons. Or in this case would I be minimizing my horizons? I must email Dr. Phil.

6. I think taxidermitized is a good word. Yes, it is a word. One just needs to think it and type it and it is SO. ;-)

7. If Maury Povich, Dr. Phil and Steve Wilko all got trapped in an elevator - I wonder who would come out with a black eye?

Happy New Year!!!!!! Woo HOO!

The carp drop sounds absolutely enchanting. Did you go? Did you take pictures?

Yes. Where is that SuzieQ?

Happy New Year Mike! No, sadly we didn't go! But what is funny is that we decided to stay home, despite a few invitations to go out - we put on some good music and played board games until about 10:30. Then we retired to the sofa and out of no where Mark says, "OH CRAP! I read about this carp drop thing in Prairie tonight - if we book it, I bet we could still make it by midnight!"

I just bust out laughing!
