So, I now have the Facebook experience to add to my repertoire of virtual activities to keep me entertained! So far, it is alot like being in a library with a blindfold on. You can stumble in and find all the books but what the hell are they about! There seems to be an infinite array of toggles, tools, walls, messages, notes, pokes, peeks, photo op's, word games, and picture tag. I will figure it out. It's cool to see so many people from highschool I have not thought about in a long time.
As much I as I like this, I am so glad I do not have access to this mental overload at work! I am sticking to my guns about not being overly "plugged in" or too dependent on computer land. I remember when instant messaging first rolled out - I was like a heroin addict. HAD to be on it all the time. Developed a rather large following of people - dare I say "friends" - that I have never met and will never meet! This had to be around 1997? In there somewhere. I had to work weekends because I spent so many work hours with my new "friends". As it has happened with other things in my life, one day I thought about it and decided, "Eh - this is steering in a direction I am not caring for...". There was drama, pressure to "meet real time", obsessions and suggestions began to pop up for some twisted sh#@$. I dropped it cold turkey. It was bordering on creepy and I am too smart for that. (I think...)
At least now, if any of my Facebook friends show up on my doorstep, I am fairly certain I would not be in fear of my well being - well - maybe. Am I giving you too much credit? You know who you are! Kidding!
This is fun! Facebook and blogging - ahh - it's a good thing! (suzie - get yer butt on there now, gerl!)
