A massage, a big wheel and a random gift...

Well - I just did the spell check on that last post! Sorry about that!

I had the massage yesterday and it was great! All this time I didn't think I could lay on my stomach anymore - and was prepared for a different massage. At the last minute, while I was still in the room alone, I thought, "I'm just gonna see if it hurts..." So, I gently rolled over and it actually felt really good! Quite comfortable even. So, I got the massage and that did wonders and I found out I am not as decrepit as I thought I was! (I never asked about the crazy message I left, however!)

I got home and was just doing the normal stuff and couldn't help but notice I just felt tired overall, didn't feeling like doing anything and didn't even feel like watching TV. I chalked it up to the overall relaxation of the massage. So at about 6:45 last night, I just decided to go upstairs and read and then maybe watch some TV. That is the last thing I remember! Well, until midnight. With my cell phone on the bed next to me (left over habit from the post surgery days) I am awakened by my text ringy. Who would be texting me at midnight on a Tuesday night?

It was from a girlfriend. She must have been out on the town somewhere - but the text was pretty funny! It said, "There is a report of a drunk and naked crazy person, wearing snow boots and riding a big wheel along I-90. Do you need me to come get you?" I laughed and closed the phone and lay there thinking it would be even funnier to text her back, "No, I got it parked okay, but I think the battery will be dead in the morning...." I imagine that would have been a hit wherever she was at - but I also figured that might be just enough "funny" for her to want to actually CALL me - so I opted to not respond!

I don't know what today has in store for me yet. It's cold, snowy and the wind is blowing what snow we did get, like it's in a washing machine. I will probably venture out later. I had some time to kill before my massage yesterday, so I wandered into JC Penney's. They always have such huge bargains this time of year. I got a pink fleece pullover sweatshirt for $4.99. That's cheaper than Goodwill! Last year, I got Mark a leather coat that was marked down (no pun intended, there LOL) from 75.00 to $6.99! I gave it to him for Christmas and even kept the receipt because I wanted to prove to him what I paid for it! We thought that was so great, we went back and bought 5 more coats and gave them away to a couple friends and a couple people we knew needed a nice winter coat. I think I will do that again with some of these bargains. Maybe I will hit the children's section this time.

So, here's a challenge! I would encourage anyone reading this post to hit your local JC Penney's (or other store) and pick up a few of these awesome bargains. It is a tough time for all of us, I suppose, but there is always someone that is worse off, or so I have found. Pass your bargain along to someone else you know is in need of a little pick me up or drop them off at a center where you know they would help. I have learned the best gift ever, is one where you just do it quietly and tell no one else about it. Not even your spouse. Receive no praise. Your quiet satisfaction will be more praise than you could ever imagine!

Stay happy and stay warm!!! I am envisioning August....98 degrees in the shade and 99% humidity.....wringing wet and trying to look pretty and comfortable with a t-shirt permanently sticking to my back!
