I constructed my day today so that I would be able to watch the Inauguration of our 44th POTUS. I couldn't help but become exhausted by the commentary and specifically the reporting of absolute minutia. I realize the reporters commanding the desk have to bear a considerable challenge in finding things to talk about the entire day while the camera just sits on people... out in the elements - moving and being cold. But, like a good football game, it sometimes is just better watched and enjoyed with the mute button on.
Charlie Gibson turned into the teacher on the Peanuts cartoon after a couple hours and all I could hear was the "wah wah wah..." droning on about drapes or paint color and something about an air freshener in the royal lavoritory. "Huh...what time is it....when is this thing gonna happen?" as I check the clock for the 44th time. It rather made my brief stay on VH1 and the Rock of Love Bus yesterday like landing on PBS.
Oh well. A rather inspiring few hours - mute button and all!

From now on, watch CSPAN. It is by far the best channel for political ceremony. It is on CSPAN that you get to see and hear candid conversations. There is no commentary. You will love it!
Come to think of it - I watched the elections on CSPAN. What was I thinking! Now if we could just get a few football games on that thing! I will write some letters... ;-)
Thanks for the reminder!
I like POTUS, rhymes with lotus. Yes, the commentators got to be a bit much. They are trained, over paid babblers.
