I ended up having today off, which was a nice surprise. (Some schedule switching, again). That said, I was looking forward to picking up some jeans I ordered from JC Penney. This particular brand of jeans you can buy in the store, but I can never find a long inseam. Only short and average. I like this particular brand because they seem to "work" for my build.
I have several pair of the average length, but find after a few times in the wash - they are high water. So, I ordered some online - same jeans but with the long inseam. While I was there, I picked up a bra on clearance and a hat, scarf glove combo for free! (Buy one clearance get the another clearance item free!)
I get home and can't wait to rip the tags off the jeans and get them washed and ready to wear! After a second thought, I stopped - and thought I should try them on before getting too ambitious. Well.
The jeans are certainly long enough - but waaaay too big. They are the same size as the ones I have on, mind you. Actually, one isn't really TOO big - I could probably shrink the heck out of them - but the other pair, exactly the same - is painfully large. To the point they barely stay up. (?????)
I know this is not uncommon - different fits among the same style of jeans - this is day and night, though. So, I as I stood there, holding them up in front of me, I happened to see the tag on the waistband reads, "Made in Egypt". Huh. Picked up the second pair, "Made in Sri Lanka". Interesting. I picked up the pair that I had worn today that are becoming too short, "Made in China".
So, there you go. Apparently there is no hand book for a "Gold Standard" or anything posted on the walls where these people are stitching up the jeans. Not even a pencil drawing of each size I'll bet. They are clearly winging it....(Yeah, that looks to be about a size 9.....close enough...."
Fiddle sticks - at least I got a new bra, right? NO. I tried that on....it might fit my BARBIE if I still had one. What's the deal!
So - I got nothing. Well, I take that back - I have a hat, scarf and gloves. That might look nice - but without the jeans and the bra - people might talk....
Oh yeah, and what makes this painful is that I have the "free" hat, gloves and scarf because I bought 2 pairs of jeans and a bra that don't fit. What a bargain!
