I seem to be waking up earlier and earlier all the time. Today is the second day in about 3 or 4 that I am up before 4:00 a.m. feeling refreshed and ready to go. The trouble with that is the fact that M sleeps until about 6:00. I don't want to disturb him so I am fairly limited to what I can do around the house at this hour.
So it occurs to me this morning how many things there are that you do that make noise:
1) Making coffee. Running water at this hour sounds like you are at the base of Niagara Falls.
2) Letting the dogs out of the kennel. As soon as I am spotted leaving the house, a bark fest ensues until I get there - it is the equivalent to a 40 dog lock up.
3) Washing dishes. Forget it. See #1 and add the sound of a diner at around 8:00 a.m.
4) Baking. Add smell to obvious sound issues.
5) (There are 3 oatmeal cookies on the kitchen counter this morning. In a zip lock baggie. I have no idea where these came from. HELL NO. I am not eating one - as much as I want to.
6) Phone a friend. Conversation (particularly, mine) is noisy. This poses a problem for another reason. Who else do I know that is up at this hour, aside from maybe Suzie? But the moment I bank on that and call her, it will no doubt be the one night she has somehow found sleep.
7) Practice for my ping pong tournament. No explanation needed here.
8) I have the television on, but at a sound level best heard with your face about a foot from the screen. I think I will switch to the NASA channel. You can at least watch that without sound.
9)Vacuum. Can you imagine waking up at 3:00 in the morning to the sound of that thing going around the house! Man! I would be so pissed! LOL
10) Flush the toilet. See #1. Water seems to be a common theme here this morning. I never realized how many things involve the movement of water.
Well, I did manage to get a pot of coffee made - but it took about 4 minutes to fill the pot with water - with the faucet on a trickle. I could spit faster.
On another subject, since blogging is not that noisy, at least I don't think it is supposed to be....um - we are torn over what to do for the Super Bowl.
We have a couple parties we could go to. One party will be a drunkfest - which is quite fine! Entertaining, truth be said! But in order to have any sort of quality conversation one would have to arrive ....well, now would probably be good! Since I don't drink anymore, I always tell M when we get invited to stuff like this that I really only have about one or two hours of good conversation before things start going downhill!
About 3 hours into the evening I am fairly certain my hair could be on fire and no one would notice. Unless of course I was walking into the room with an arm load of beer! ("Brenda are you okay?!!! You shouldn't carry all that beer!" as my hair crumbles to the floor...)
But I guess Super Bowl parties are more about eating, drinking and being merry and less about good conversation? Oh and there is that football game thingy in there, too. Kidding! I actually like football alot. I sometimes enjoy not having a favorite team in the SB. It seems you enjoy the game alot more and you don't have to constantly remind yourself that the outcome of the game "has nothing to do with my quality of life so get over it!" Yeah - I like football!
On another less related note, I have switched the t.v. to this show about lock up. Guys in prison. The interviewer asks an inmate, "What do you miss most about life on the outside?" Answer, "Just being able to pick up and go to the beach and watch the tide if I want to. Being able to go to the park with my kids or go ride my bike on a sunny afternoon." I find it hard to believe that a guy doing life in prison for gang related murders really did alot of tide watching and beach combing in his leisure pre-prison days. I'm jis sayin'!!!
Well, I am going to go get myself a cup of that coffee now. It has occurred to me I could grab that new Bible I got and see how Genesis ends. I am at a cliff hanger and cannot wait to read how it goes - something about a flood. ;-)

I'm in the same dilemma every weekend morning. *sigh*
I love your commentary about Super Bowl parties. It's so true. Game? What game?
We ended up going to our Tripoli option for the Super Bowl! It was farther than we really intended on driving (about and hour and 10 minutes from our house)- but it seemed like the best option. Light social drinking, great food, awesome conversatin and a chance to watch the Super Bowl in our friends Grand new basement - life size LG TV and all. So - it was a very fun evening.
