I need inspiration...

I have not had a round on my treadmill in about a week now. I am not sure what happened to break the month or two of serious momentum I had going. I cannot get it back!

When I first started to get bored on it, I got CD's to listen to. When that got old, I hauled in the TV from the bedroom once a day. When that got old, I brought a book or a magazine on it with me. Now I cannot think of one thing - aside from maybe being physically tied to it, that has enough oomph to get me on it. I think being able to get outside to walk would help, but then I wonder if that is just another excuse wrapped in Spring's clothing?

I got on the scale this morning and - it shows. Miserably. While I do not "appear" over weight at the moment, it is clear to me I still have the same fat genes and the same fat cells that are just waiting to be filled up. One day of a little indulgence and I pay. I need to get this back in check. Right now, its only about 5-10 pounds I would like to see gone. After everything I have been through - I promised myself I would never be overweight again. If I don't do something now, in a months time it could be 20 lbs.

Do it. Quit talking. Quit typing. Quit complaining. Quit making excuses. Just DO IT.

Right?

HMMMM. I think we go in cycles. Sometimes it takes everything I have to get on that thing but now, I feel awful if I don't. I usually get up between 4 and 4:30, have some quiet time (pray, Bible reading) and get on the treadmill around 5 or 5:15. Then I am DONE for the day by 6. Hallelujah!!
I do a mixture of things to pass the time. Watch TV and when I get bored with that I work on memorizing Scripture. Right now I'm memorizing 1 Peter. When I've had enough of that I may pray or just think about stuff.
If I get really bored, I may do a workout DVD instead, like the Biggest Loser. It works different parts than the treadmill.
I'll be anxious to see what others have for suggestions.

Thank you, thank you ladies! Somehow when you unleash a little head struggle you are able to get in attack mode and get over it.
ML - Now that you remind me I do have a book on CD I only got half way through!

janban - you didn't say it, but I eed to quit being so wrapped up in why I don't feel like doing it, and just do it. God helps those who help themselves!

Ruthie - I have an aunt and uncle in their mid 80's and her advice has always been to "just keep moving even when it hurts". They go walking everyday and dancing every weekend. Your acquaintance the other night was right on the money!

I need to quit acting as though this is a mission to the moon! Its not that complicated! ONce you just get over yourself you can accomplish about anything!

I hear you loud and clear. I have to run 3X a week on the treadmill - the 2 days that I have long runs just kill me. But once I am on it, it is okay - getting on it is the toughest part. I have to watch TV or I get bored out of my mind. To mix it up, I increase my speed during the commercials.

Here is a link to a trainer in Madison that suggests doing Burst Training. http://www.fatlosstipsforwomen.com/2009/02/16/burn-fat-10x-faster-then-traditional-exercise/

I have started doing this on my "off running days" or my cross training days. It is killer, but I like it. Only been doing it a week. The nice thing is you get a great workout in about 30 minutes.

Here is his 2nd post on the subject that gives you a little more detail: http://www.fatlosstipsforwomen.com/2009/02/18/how-to-burn-fat-10x-faster-then-tradional-cardio-part-2/

Good luck...
