There have been two Friday the 13th's 2 months in a row! Not a big deal for the average person. However, for us it means a trip to Waterloo and an evening spent in our friends backyard with a bon fire.
This little right of passage came to be years and years ago. Every Friday the 13th, our friends started having bon fire's and invited all their friends. It is such a regular event that at this point, no one is officially invited anymore. You know to come by the day on the calendar. What I always find strange is the amount of people that "show up" and from where! The "she" of this couple, is also responsible for the Women's Camp out each year - so I have come to know her as a dear friend, along with about 553 other people! They are a fabulously fun couple. One year they were out of town on Friday the 13th and people came anyway! Had the party in the back yard without them. What great spirit.
So, while the wind is hammering away at my house as I type this - I am glad for this little diversion Friday night. Makes me forget that daylight savings time swallowed Spring and left an "unseason" in its wake.
Happy Hump Day!
