Yesterday I was looking through the junk drawer and found two gift cards! I remember getting them but don't recall the set of careless circumstances that landed them into that black abyss that is the junk drawer!
One was to Von Mauer and the other was to Wal Mart. I called the number on the back of each card and much to my delight, both were still good! After the customer service lady at VM told me I had 100.00 to spend, I did manage to recall getting that one from Mark at Christmas in 2007! The Wal mart card I am happy to report advanced me forward $25.00!
I wish I had known about the VM card a couple weeks ago when I was in Cedar Falls. There is a VM in the mall near where I was staying. Oh well. I got online and managed to find 2 pairs of sandals and some Clinique hand cream and only had to kick in about 6.00!
I decided to act on the Wal mart card too and ended up with a Food Processor. I have been wanting one of these for a long time. You are probably thinking this is pretty lame, but I spend a LOT of time standing at the kitchen counter every day preparing fresh veg and fresh fruit. (It is about all I eat when I am home alone during the week. )So, I am thinking I will just keep this on the counter and then stash it when I need to. Good plan so far...but...
I have already sliced, chopped, shredded and pulverized most everything processable in my kitchen at the moment. Which of course led to alot of eating today. I am my worst enemy! If anyone near me needs a relish tray or fruit tray for anything in the next day or two - look me up. I have a wide variety of perfectly sliced morsels in my fridge right now that I would be happy to part with! LOL
Noted today:
* I always seem to post something on my blog when Intervention is on. At least I am not eating ice cream during this hour anymore. There was a smidge of irony in that.
* I am not sure how much I like the "teller" on the screen at the drive thru bank. I pulled up to it this morning and when I buzzed my window down I noticed I had a tiny black dot under my left eye. (When you first pull up - you see yourself in the screen.) So, I did the ole' "lick your finger and rub like crazy trick" until it was gone. Then suddenly Ms. Teller pops in on the screen and says, "were you done *giggle* I didn't want to interrupt you so I waited until you were done!"
Well, that's nice. Now the entire bank knows how talentless I am with a mascara wand. I think I will wear a bunny head next time. We have one in the attic. Only, I would be the one that somehow would get arrested for a robbery attempt. Certain of it!
* We are buying collars with bells for out two outside cats. This is Mark's solution for the stalking of the bird feeders. While I think this is probably a brilliant idea, I fear this may lead to an onslaught of mice - if the birds are startled by the bells surely the mice will be too? Maybe we could buy little tiny earplugs for the mice.
*Deadliest Catch starts a new season this week. I am fairly excited about that! Suzie are ya with me!
* Snacks that are pre-packaged as 100 calorie snacks are not really that effective if you eat 5 packages at one time. Instead, they should be sold individually (vs boxes of 10). That way you have truly secured a 100 calorie snack item.

OMG! I watched the Dealiest Catch marathon this weekend! I was relaying to my coworkers an argument that Brian and I had and said that I felt like telling him that being on a crab boat on the Bering Sea would be more pleasant and my coworker said "Oh, you must be watching DC!" See it's addictive. Now, if only Ice Road Truckers was on. BTW, I think you should have gone in the bank and beat the teller with your mascara wand. How many times do you suppose she sits there chuckling at the people who don't realize they are being watched.
At least you were not picking your nose or cleaning your teeth.
I like DC as well...
I watched that marathon too! Mark asked at one point if "these were new shows" and I said - no, not yet! He was like, "you have seen all of these then?"
Of course....So what's your point!
