We had a fun weekend unearthing all the fun stuff that comes with spring. (Literally and figuratively!) We hung more birdhouses, added more feeders and are happy to report bluebirds have moved in already! The birdhouses are now full! I got up close and personal with a hummingbird this afternoon. We hung out the sugar water feeders and - it took about 3 minutes and we had a hummingbird! That was crazy! I was standing about one foot from it. Got a brief glimpse of an indigo bunting a couple days ago. They never stick around for long. Unlike the thousands of goldfinches we seem to have this year! Never get tired of seeing them. The cardinals also made an appearance.
We walked the dogs down the road to a pond that is near our house. We had to kind of climb up over a little "hill" to get to the water and when we did - we surprised two Canadian geese and 3 little goslings. Lucy splashed right into the water and then thought twice about approaching them when the wingspan ended up being bigger than she was! They guarded their babies fearlessly. Thankfully, she came right back to us, and we got out of there and left them alone. Dogs will have to get wet another day!
On Saturday, I mowed part of the lawn and then we started potting plants. LOTS of them! I absolutely love doing this. We try to come up with something interesting every year and this year is no exception! This one turned out very cool:
So that was the weekend of Birds and Blooms. Simply wonderful!

I'm coming down to steal the pot arrangement you have pictured. You know where to look when it goes missing. Just saying.
