What's new?

Well - I considered myself a faithful blogger and once I stopped for a couple weeks I found out how easy it is to just keep stopping. That make sense?

It's been an unusually busy spring so far. More graduations to go to than I can ever recall. Last Sunday was the most grueling: on the road by m 7 a.m. to be in Oxford Ia (Iowa City) for a breakfast brunch graduation, spent a couple hours there, back on the road home, arrived around 3:00 p.m., back over to Calmar for a second cousins graduation, then back home, changed clothes and went to Waukon for another. We arrived back home somewhat bewildered by the day around 10:00 pm, with out of town family members in tow to spend the night.

Meanwhile we managed to get a garden planted, tear off part of the barn foundation and now my brother is re-blocking it (this barn was built in the 1900's) and then he will pour concrete in the basement so we can store our old cars - OH! and we bought a Harley Davidson (after pondering, penciling and looking and considering this purchase for over a year)!

Did I mention I got a new job in there, too, somewhere? Whew. I will post more another day on that avenue - but suffice it to say - my much adored spare time is now a thing of the past and I never saw it coming! Working FULL time again after two years has been a huge adjustment. But, I think it will be a good one - that is if I survive training and getting up at 4:00 a.m. here for a couple more weeks. Ick.

I bought a Bunn coffee maker. I hate to admit it but "yes" something that plugs into the wall actually has me a little excited. Our old coffee maker was limping along - taking about 2 1/2 hours to make one pot! I would set the timer for 2:00 in the morning so that I would be sure it would be done by the time I got up! Then on its last day - it just died half way through and I had to heat water on the stove and pour it through the top. The lengths I go for a good cup of Joe.

No, I didn't have to buy a "Bunn"..... but oh my - what a good cup of coffee-and in seconds! The best part is that I actually told Mark I paid $100.00. Sometimes I will lessen the blow for his benefit and shave off 20 or 30 bucks just so the sticker shock doesn't blast him up against the wall. But I gave it to him full throttle and after one eyebrow snuck up into his hairline for a brief moment - he had a sip and was impressed.

I am so clever to make that first pot BEFORE breaking the news.

Well... it is going on 5:a.m. as I finish this and I better hit the shower.

Happy Wednesday!

Yes, the time flies by and before you know it, MONTHS have passed and you wonder where they went. Congrats on the new job and sorry I missed you at graduation but Mom filled me in on the recent goings-on.

What is the new job?? Hand model? Phone psychic? Do tell.

My folks had a Bunn. It was fast and that was a great thing. Sadly, I never got to see what it could do with good coffee, only Maxwell House half caff.
